Since the beginning of 2012 wind-turbine.com has been working on opening up new business opportunities in the wind energy sector for windfarm operators, component suppliers, service providers and investors. By now the portal has grown into the world’s biggest online marketplace throughout the wind industry with more than 7,500 advertisements altogether. By founding an independent limited liability company (GmbH) on June 27th 2016 and relaunching the portal on the same day, the start-up company redefines its profile and also widens its portfolio for the future.
With the takeover of the Dutch portal WindTurbines-MarketPlace.com which was carried out in May, wind-turbine.com has already been able to improve its presence on the wind energy market. In order to redefine its profile as the wind energy sector’s strong online partner and offer a firm contact for all registered and newly interested partners, Bernd Weidmann, Managing Director, and shareholder Heiko Werner who bears responsibility for the portal’s technical implementation decided to transfer the start-up into the form of an independent company. In the future, the wind-turbine.com GmbH will further help to shorten sales processes in the wind energy sector and empower the second hand market as well as the supplier segment to become more flexible by providing easily available business opportunities.
The restructuring of wind-turbine.com as well as the revised layout will help all registered providers and portal users, who already exceed the number of 4,500, to detect new business chances even faster and deal with them more effectively. “By relaunching and adjusting our portal, wind-turbine.com joins the group of modern online marketplaces”, Bernd Weidmann emphasizes. Among the new features users will find a completely new, up-to-date query form on the front page which offers a better access to wind turbines, components, requests and companies than before. The portal now also contains a matching feature which constantly aligns offers and requests and notifies the potential business partners in case of a correspondence. The new matching feature will empower wind energy businesses to find highly interested leads and convert them into promising deals. Additionally, wind-turbine.com is now offering a more detailed set of categories for products and services in its marketplace. All new features and elements will help to improve the portal’s usability and therefore strengthen the visibility of wind energy-related products and services.
