Onshore: complex projects and innovative technology
Siemens Gamesa offers you a comprehensive range of onshore wind turbines for all wind classes and site conditions. With Siemens Gamesa 5.X, we offer a high-performance and technologically leading onshore platform. The new platform includes two turbine models: the SG 5.8-155 and the SG 5.8-170. These most powerful turbines in our onshore portfolio to date have a nominal output of 5.8 MW and rotor diameters of 155 and 170 metres. Both models offer maximum performance in strong, medium and weak wind conditions. The rotor with a diameter of 170 meters is the largest in the onshore sector. With a highly flexible design that allows for an improved value chain, the platform's versatility makes it suitable for a wide range of locations. The new wind turbines combine proven Siemens Gamesa technologies and offer maximum reliability in the ××××××××× project implementation, we are a strong and trustworthy partner, do not shy away from any challenge and are happy to support you in complex projects. For example, three of our modern wind turbines from our customer, Hamburg Energie, are located on the site of Trimet's aluminium smelter in the middle of the Port of Hamburg and thus in the immediate vicinity of industrial plants. In order to protect industrial production, special protective devices were installed in the wind turbines. These include active fire protection solutions and an automatic stop of the system with a safe parking position of the machine house in the event of ice shedding.
Siemens Gamesa and its partner, Max Bögl Wind AG, are reaching new heights especially for the German market: At 165 meters, the tallest tower to date was installed in Vetschau.
Services: digital cost cutters for maintenance and operation
In order to reduce production downtime due to maintenance assignments, we rely on digital solutions: Thanks to remote diagnostics and algorithm-based operational optimization, our services offer you the decisive plus in profitability for your onshore and offshore fleet. In addition, there are the latest digital technologies such as rotor blade analysis using drones or service via ××××××××× This also means that we can now offer you our services for your entire fleet, i.e. regardless of the wind turbine manufacturer, and thus maximise the availability of your wind farm within the framework of an overarching service contract.
Storage solution: an answer from Hamburg to global challenges of renewable energies
Effective storage solutions are a central building block for the further growth of renewable energies worldwide. Our electrothermal storage system, ETES, offers a cost-effective solution for this. In Hamburg, we have built a prototype for this technology that stores 130 MWh of energy thermally in volcanic rock and is connected to a steam turbine. With the help of our partner Hamburg Energie, the electricity generated is fed into the regular grid. In the next step, we want to quickly expand this technology into the GWh sector. For example, existing conventional power plants can be retrofitted and jobs can thus be saved.
