Rostock, July 15, 2025 – On August 8, 2025, the Rostock Wind trade event will take place for the 14th time at Scanhotels (formerly Radisson Blu), right in the heart of the Hanseatic city of Rostock. Embedded in the maritime backdrop of the Hanse Sail, the event will once again bring together experts from technology, business and politics to discuss the future of wind energy.
The event will be kicked off by Nina Scheer, Member of the German Bundestag, energy policy spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group. Afterwards, she will discuss the role of wind energy for the labour market with other personalities such as Bärbel Heidebroek (President of the German Wind Energy Association) and Dennis Rendschmidt (Managing Director of VDMA Power Systems) under the leitmotif "Wind energy as an employment engine". The panel discussion will be moderated by Wolfram Axthelm, Managing Director of the German Renewable Energy Association and the German Wind Energy Association.
Afterwards, trends and developments in the wind energy industry will be discussed in the four parallel specialist forums "Planning", "Financing", "Technology" and – brand new – "Recruiting". The new recruiting forum is dedicated to the acute shortage of skilled workers in the industry. On the question "How can the shortage of skilled workers be counteracted in a targeted manner?", representatives of the wind industry will exchange ideas with educational institutions and young talents. The aim is to find innovative ways to secure the demand for skilled workers in the industry in the long term.
A wide range of topics will also determine the other specialist presentations: It ranges from project development, approval and grid connections to investment incentives and operational management to legal updates and digital tools. Industry experts and newcomers alike will find valuable impulses for practice.
As every year, the day ends in a special atmosphere: Networking continues with an evening trip on the Warnow with a buffet and live music - with a view of the sunset and the Baltic Sea as a backdrop.
