Trianel confirms successful protective effect – no detachment or corrosion damage visible

Worms, August 27, 2025 – In an ongoing pilot project with Trianel Windkraftwerk Borkum GmbH & Co. KG, the high-performance film RENOLIT CP Advanced has once again proven its claim to be an effective corrosion protection solution. Nine months after application on an offshore transformer platform, current images of the covered surfaces show that the films are stable, adhere cleanly and continue to offer full protection despite the harsh offshore environment.

The transformer platform is exposed to salty air, high UV radiation and changing temperatures on a daily basis – ideal conditions for rapid corrosion formation. However, there are no signs of corrosion at all the inspected areas where the RENOLIT CP Advanced film was applied in August 2024. The films continue to adhere completely, without the slightest detachment, and on a wide variety of geometries. This underlines both the quality of the material and the correct application on site.

"The films behave exactly as desired. The applications are intact and there is no evidence of infiltration or bubble formation," is the feedback from Nader Younes - Trianel Project Management Officer.

The attached current pictures make it clear: What was originally damaged or at risk of rust is now protected in the long term. The uniform, robust protective layer of RENOLIT CP Advanced has proven to be a reliable barrier against corrosion, even on complex and uneven surfaces.


Quick and easy application – long-term protection against corrosion

The first report from September 2024 already emphasized that the film can be applied quickly and efficiently even under challenging offshore conditions. RENOLIT CP Advanced impresses with its uncomplicated application – without any primer and without drying times. This is precisely where a significant advantage over conventional painting processes lies.

The project pursues a clear preventive approach: corrosion spots are treated at an early stage – not only when the damage is already well advanced. This not only saves maintenance costs, but also makes a decisive contribution to the longevity and safety of the entire offshore structure.

After nine months of tough offshore use, the film shows its long-term protection against corrosion, even under extreme conditions. The current results underline the effectiveness of the film solution and represent another significant step towards sustainable repair of offshore structures and wind turbines.
