AREVA Wind GmbH

27572 Bremerhaven, Israel

Description

Areva Wind GmbH, previously known as Multibrid GmbH, has been developing and producing wind turbines for the offshore sector since its foundation in 2000. The highly qualified employees use their know-how in all parts of the plant in harmony with the company's suppliers. At the same time, Areva's expertise, which is bundled at three locations, will be optimally networked with each other. Planning and assembly are carried out at the Bremerhaven headquarters, where the company administration, the IT and engineering department and the work preparation department are also represented. Areva is directly linked to production here. The rotor blades of the Areva wind turbines, on the other hand, are manufactured at the Stade Areva Blades GmbH production site

in Stade. This is also where the customer center, project management, and the communications and people department are located. At the same time, all installed offshore wind turbines are monitored in the control room of the Bremerhaven Service Center. Before they are delivered, the produced systems are subjected to extensive tests on the test rig that is also located there. Sales and management are based in the Hanseatic City of Bremen.

Overview of all wind turbines from Areva

The portfolio of Areva Wind GmbH includes the M5000 wind turbine with a nominal output of 5 MW in the M5000-116 version, which has a rotor diameter of 116 meters. Another turbine version is the M5000-135 with a rotor diameter of 135 meters. The design of the turbine takes into account the fact that the minimum number of assembly steps is required for its installation at the offshore site. In addition to the turbine tower, only the nacelle and rotor have to be assembled, while the switchgear, transformer and converter system are already integrated into the S3 tower ready for operation. The advantage is that the assembly time on site is reduced to a minimum. Since the offshore sites can only be reached by air or sea, Areva's M5000 wind turbine will be manufactured directly on the quay wall in Bremerhaven, making transport to its locations in the North Sea particularly simplified. The components of the nacelles and hub, including the particularly sensitive drive train elements, are assembled here by an experienced team so that a continuous quality standard can be ensured. In addition, the M5000 model is very low maintenance, which is a great advantage given its location in hard-to-reach offshore wind farms.
