Green City Energy AG was founded in May 2005 as a limited liability company and 100% subsidiary of the Munich-based environmental protection organization Green City e.V. In October 2011, Green City Energy was converted into an AG in order to be able to allow the investors of the first hour to participate in the company in accordance with the conditions at the time. Green City Energy is not listed on the stock exchange.
