HessenEnergie has been developing wind energy projects in Hesse since 1993 and attaches great importance to adapted, locally anchored planning. The wind farms were realised with different organisational concepts. The spectrum ranges from citizen participation companies and municipal wind farms to projects in partnership with cooperatives and institutional investors. In total, the Energy Agency has planned, erected and financed more than 130 wind turbines since 1993, for the technical operation of which it is regularly responsible. In the meantime, more than 30 wind turbines have been dismantled and replaced by modern, high-performance turbines
