Description

Founded in 1968, HYTORC is the world's leading brand for torque-controlled, preload-accurate bolting technology and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2018. For many years, well-known industrial companies have relied on holistic solution expertise, high-quality products and consistent customer service. Numerous patents stand for an innovative lead in the market and proven added value in terms of sustainable costs, benefit optimisation and the pursuit of process and occupational safety.
Your specialist for wind turbinesBolt connections in wind turbines mainly connect tower segments with tower construction and attach the rotor blades to the hub. High-strength screw connections of strength class 10.9 with a screw diameter of up to 64 mm are used. These can be found in ring flange connections of steel tubular towers as well as in rotor blades and in the nacelle.
Due to the high dynamic stress of the screw connection, the preload force itself must be repeatable from screw to screw. However, it can spread due to various factors. The result: regular and very elaborate checks.
Hytorc solves this problem with the fastest repeatable assembly process currently available – the three-piece mechanical expansion nut CLAMP. The process is torsion-free, certified by GL-Wind, safe to work with and therefore particularly suitable for the harsh offshore wind turbine sector. It is ideal for screwing rotor blades. Compared to previous tightening methods, the time required to screw the rotor blade pins together is reduced by more than half on average.
