Mark-E is the energy service provider for around 400,000 household, business and industrial customers. For commercial customers, Mark-E is the competent partner for all questions of efficient energy use in the industrial and service sectors. Special major customer products such as modern contracting solutions for the supply of heating, cooling or compressed air as well as for industrial lighting are just as much a part of our portfolio as individual consulting for more energy efficiency.
Mark-E – which operated its own power plants for many years – is gradually withdrawing from conventional power generation in the course of the energy transition.
More and more electricity is being generated from renewable sources. In 2018, almost 38 percent of total electricity (net) nationwide was already generated from renewable energies such as wind, sun and water. Mark-E is helping to shape change. Today, we use the expertise gained from the operation of conventional power plants for the use of renewable energies in the region.
In addition to the operation of around thirty photovoltaic systems with an output of 940 kWp by our subsidiary Novastrom, the company maintains three run-of-river power plants that supply between 13 and 18 million kWh of electricity from hydropower annually. This covers the needs of 4,000 households.
