Walter Lackermayr discovered small wind generators as an ideal solution to the problem of power supply during his expeditions. But it didn't stop there: '... there are so many net-free applications, the demand is huge...' (original sound interview BR June 2004).
After careful consideration, he founded the company WINDPOWER ENERTEC in 1996, the company dealt exclusively with small wind turbines. When the company was founded, hardly anyone believed in success "only with small wind generators", on the contrary, a rather cold wind blew towards us. WINDPOWER ENERTEC was ridiculed rather than taken seriously.
In 1998 we took over the company TRADEWINDS and thus secured the distribution of Southwest Windpower United States, manufacturer of the successful AIR, which is still the most successful wind generator in the world with over 70,000 units sold. Within just one year, TRADEWINDS & WINDPOWER ENERTEC became the most successful distributor of small wind turbines.
We are proud to have been so successful in the market as a small company. Today, we have generators from various manufacturers in our range, and it is still exciting to be at the forefront.
