The company was born out of a search for investment opportunities and an interest in investing in the renewable energy sector, with the aim of installing wind turbines on high-wind energy sites.
The company owns a wind turbine that was installed in 2015 on a ridge in the Lucanian Apennines (Basilicata). The company holds a surface right for the site for the remaining period of about 15 years. The plant is characterized by an agreement with the GSE for an all-inclusive tariff of 268 euros/MWh, which expires in 2035.
The main features of the system are listed below:
the performance has been certified according to the CEI EN 61400-1 standard and confirmed by an experimental study by RSE S.p.a.;
the two-blade system (one-piece blades made of resistant and highly conductive materials)
the nacelle on the plant is habitable;
The tower is equipped with an internal access staircase;
significant yields even in low winds;
The invert/asynchronous conversion system is a safe and patented system;
maximum power is 55 kW.
The main peculiarity of the system is that it is equipped with a patented conversion system consisting of an industrial inverter for motors and an auxiliary motor/generator pair. The auxiliary generator is the only device that is connected to the power grid and can withstand significant momentary overloads, such as atmospheric discharges hitting the power grid. This system also acts as a separation between the power grid and the generator, allowing an "elastic" connection between wind energy and the energy fed into the grid to effectively dampen the overloads normally caused by the variability of wind speed (gusts).
The average annual production in the first ten years of operation of the plant was about 70 MWh.
