04.07.2026

In this interview, Martin Dudkiewicz-Grassmann and Grzegorz Sobczuk talk about the everyday life of technical operations management in Poland. What is different there than in Germany and what challenges have to be overcome?

Question: You have been supervising Polish Wind energy projects in technical management. What have you done in this about the Polish market, and what insights were there for you? Surprising?

Answer: Above all, we have learned how dynamically the Polish market for renewable energies. Six years ago, when we took over the first wind fields in Dunowo , there were still many Uncertainties. Some market processes seemed unclear at the time. The regulatory framework could not always be immediately clear, classify.

Surprised we are particularly impressed by the speed at which the market has changed. Many topics came towards us at the same time. New requirements, adapted processes, and changing expectations of authorities or market partners quickly became part of the Everyday life. This showed us how important close coordination within the team is. We must recognize developments at an early stage, classify them cleanly, and use them as concrete To derive steps for operation.

At the same time we have learned that flexibility plays a central role in Poland. Who Projects there are technically supervised, has to regularly question processes. Experience helps a lot. However, it does not replace daily attention for current developments in the market.

Question: What is different in Poland than in Germany or other markets in which ENERTRAG Betrieb is active? Are there cultural, technical or regulatory differences that you may encounter in your work What do you have to take into account?

Answer: We experience the cultural differences in our everyday work not as particularly large. The cooperation works openly, directly, and solution-oriented. Many topics can be dealt with a little faster and more quickly in Poland. more informally than in other markets. We notice this, for example, in the Coordination with service providers, service companies, and sometimes also with authorities.

From this a special work rhythm is created. Many stakeholders want to address issues early on. and make decisions quickly. This helps because it means that processes pick up speed. At the same time, time pressure also arises, especially when technical, regulatory and organizational issues run in parallel.

For to us, this means that we need clear responsibilities, short lines of communication, and good preparation. If you want to work successfully in Poland, you should react quickly and still remain careful. Especially in the technical It is this balance that counts. practicable. However, they must also become a safe and secure reliable operation of the wind turbines.

Question: What special stumbling blocks or Challenges have you encountered in Poland, and how do you deal with them? What would you advise other colleagues who are doing projects in Poland supervise?

Answer: We see the biggest challenge in working with the rapid changes in the Polish renewable energy market. . Rules, processes, and requirements change frequently. Sometimes you just understood a topic and integrated it into your daily work. Short this will be followed by the next adjustment.

The requires a lot of attention and a real willingness to learn. We therefore check regularly check whether our previous assumptions are still correct. In addition, we keep the Exchange with local partners, service providers, and internal departments deliberately narrow. In this way, we can detect changes earlier and be able to do so more quickly react.

Our Advice to colleagues is: Take enough time to market. Poland is an exciting market. It should be but not only from the German perspective. Many processes follow of its own logic. Who keeps an open mind, asks questions, and local experience seriously, is making much faster progress.

Important is also not to see change as an exception. They belong in Poland to everyday work. With a good structure, reliable communication, and with a clear technical view, these challenges can be easily .
