The specific design of the bearings is carried out with the help of highly developed calculation and simulation tools. Our experienced engineers take into account load cycles, lubrication, deformations, temperature response as well as extreme and maximum conditions. This is the only way to realize a design with cost-optimized components that works reliably even under the highest loads and has a long service life. NSK Wind StandardIn 2008, NSK was the first manufacturer to pioneer the Wind Standard U303 for rolling bearings – including one hundred percent traceability of the components of each individual bearing and all key process variables. NDT methods (Non Destructive Testing) are also provided to prevent grinding burn, material cracks and structural disorders. Long service life with BOC (Black Oxide Coating) and patented materialsThe BOC treatment of the bearings avoids premature bearing failures due to white etching cracks (WEC). For high demands, the patented special material AWS-TF (Anti White Structure-Tough) is also available, which reliably prevents damage caused by WEC. To increase the load rating and service life, our STF material (Super-Tough) has proven its worth, especially with contaminated lubricants. This is confirmed by a certification by DNV GL: Rolling bearings made of Super-TF achieve a dynamic load rating that is 23% or 26% higher. This corresponds to a doubling of the bearing life.
