Landwind and Light:Guard sign exclusive BNK framework agreement

08.10.2026

New three-year contract covers the BNK equipment of around 130 turbines in more than 20 wind farms – including numerous new construction and repowering projects.

The Landwind Group and the Light:Guard GmbH have signed an exclusive framework agreement to equip Wind turbines with demand-controlled night marking (BNK) closed. The contract runs for three years and covers around 130 plants in more than 20 Wind farms.

BNK reduces the flashing of wind turbines to a minimum. To do this, the system monitors the airspace around a wind farm. When a flying object approaches, it increases the suppression of the Lights on and the red light flashes as before.

The new contract expands cooperation of companies: Landwind and Light:Guard had already announced a framework agreement. Since then, the light:guard system has ensured that the lighting on land-based wind turbines remains switched off in open airspace. The most of the wind farms in the new contract will be newly built; some projects are Repowering projects.

Landwind Managing Director Bärbel Heidebroek emphasizes: "Good neighborliness means for us that the local people and communities benefit from the energy transition benefit. The acceptance tax to the municipalities contributes to this as well as measures to reduce light pollution. The demand-driven night marking ensures that the night-time lighting of our wind turbines. With Light:Guard, we have reliable partner at our side. We are looking forward to the long-term cooperation."

Light:Guard is just as positive the continuation of the cooperation. Senior Sales Manager Claudia Flörke accompanied the contract process and was recently present at the opening of the Söllingen onshore wind farms in Lower Saxony. Light:Guard also has the BNK equipment was taken over.

"It was great to see live and in color how our collaboration and our system contributes to the big picture. The particularly motivates us to continue the cooperation and to work together with Landwind to make the nights around their wind farms darker," says Claudia Flörke.
